Five advantages of titanium jewelry!

Over the past few years titanium jewelry has become especially popular. Both men and women appreciate functionality of this durable metal.

Titanium jewelry is mostly made with machines which carefully cut and separate the ideally processed details. There are very few handmade titanium products. Titanium jewelry may include diamonds and other gemstones. However, the hardness of titanium limits the choice inlays this metal can hold.

About the titanium jewelry.

When titanium was first discovered at the end of the 18th century, it was named after the great mythological titans – a name that would hardly have been more appropriate for such a strong and enduring metal. At that time working with such durable material was impossible and the jewelry designers did not work with titanium till the end of the 1990s.

Rings were the first jewelry items that were made of titanium and the new technologies were tested for engraving on the metal and inlaying of the precious stones. Thanks to the success of titanium rings, the jewelry designers had the opportunity to experiment with necklaces, bracelets and other products.

Unfortunately, to this day, most people are not aware of the benefits this metal can offer. Further we look at the five main advantages of the titanium jewelry.

  1. Strength and durability

One of the most well-known advantages of titanium is its durability. While gold and silver jewelry items are easily scratched from daily wear, titanium is one of the most durable jewelry metals. Titanium products can withstand almost any unfavorable conditions.  This metal practically is not scratched and does not lose its luster. Titanium does corrode and does not change color because of time.

Despite the fact that this metal is very strong, titanium jewelry may be made in different styles, inlaid with stones and even other metals. Titanium is also of less weight than any other metals. This quality makes the titanium jewelry (even really massive) more comfortable to wear.

  1. Extraordinary palette of colors

During the heating of the titanium or with the electric current effect, the metal releases oxides and changes its color. Depending on the temperature and the duration of the heating time of titanium, the colors range from yellow and pink to red, purple and even black. Thanks to this we can admire the decorations of the most different fantastic colors that appeared not due to the coloring but generated by the properties of the metal itself.

  1. Biocompatibility

Even in its natural form titanium is biocompatible virtually with any types of human skin. This means that practically everyone may wear titanium jewelry without the fear of allergy reactions of the body. Those people who were faced with the intolerance to the products made of gold or silver, can easily wear titanium.

The main reason is that unlike other precious metals, titanium is not mixed with other alloys and metals that could cause allergy. Titanium shows its best qualities in its “pure form”, that is why it is suitable almost for any person.

  1. Affordability of the purchase

When jewelry designers began experimenting with titanium at the end of the 1990s, it was nearly impossible to find this metal in jewelry items. Today titanium jewelry is quite popular and available in many jewelry stores. The information on the advantages of this metal was actively distributed and today many brave buyers choose titanium jewelry.

  1. Democratic cost

Titanium products in comparison with other popular jewelry metals have more democratic cost. Gold, for example, is valued according to its carats (in fact – purity) and the complex process of the preparation of the alloys before turning to jewelry product.

On the contrary, titanium is initially ready for processing without any additives and laborious preparation processes. This metal only needs to be molded and processed to become a decoration. This allows to reduce the cost of titanium products compared with other metals. Even additional elements of design, such as the insertions of the gemstones, increase price less than in gold or silver jewelry products.

Titanium is perfect for any decoration. The affordability and endurance of this metal make it a reasonable choice for the most of the jewelry fans.  As titanium becomes more and more popular, the jewelers will be more daring to experiment with the shapes and styles of titanium products.
